Transportation and Accommodation Tips

  • Transportation: High-speed trains arrive at Zhumadian West Railway Station, while regular trains arrive at Zhumadian Railway Station. A taxi ride into the city takes about 15-20 minutes. Buses and ride-hailing are convenient within the city, but for attractions in surrounding counties, such as Chaya Mountain, self-driving or hiring a car is recommended, as public transportation is relatively inconvenient.
  • Accommodation: Staying in Yicheng District or near Tianzhong Square is recommended. Transportation is convenient, there are plenty of nearby options for eating, drinking, and shopping, and Royal Post Station is also close for an evening visit.

Pitfall-Avoidance Tips

  • The hiking routes at Chaya Mountain can be physically demanding, so comfortable sports shoes are recommended. If your stamina is limited, consider taking the cableway or slide. Be cautious about following people soliciting diners at the scenic area parking lot entrance, and check well-reviewed restaurants in advance.
  • Royal Post Station is relatively quiet during the day, so it is better to visit in the evening, when the night views and atmosphere are stronger.
  • Zhumadian’s attractions are fairly spread out. If you have more time, you can add a few extra days to visit nearby county spots such as Boshan Lake or Suyahu Lake.
