• Day 2: West Island - Tianya Town

In the morning, land on West Island, rent a small electric scooter, and slowly circle the island, checking out the coral wall and glassy sea. In the afternoon, visit Tianya Town to see its blue-and-white, comic-style buildings, then find a seaside cafe and simply relax.

• Day 3: Nanshan Temple - Luhuitou

In the morning, visit Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone to pay respects to the 108-meter Guanyin statue on the sea. The park is very large, so taking the sightseeing shuttle is recommended. In the late afternoon, go to Luhuitou Scenic Area for panoramic views of Sanya and its glittering nightscape.

• Day 4: Wuzhizhou Island - Houhai Village

On a sunny day, Wuzhizhou Island is a must for its jelly-like sea and water activities. In the afternoon, head to Houhai Village, a paradise for beginner surfers, then enjoy the sea breeze at a small bar in the evening.

• Day 5: Yalong Bay Forest Park - Sun Bay Road - Return Trip

Spend the morning exploring Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park and breathing in the fresh air. In the afternoon, drive or cycle along the coastal Sun Bay Road, then head to the airport fully satisfied.

• Sanya Bay: Close to downtown commercial areas, convenient for eating and grocery shopping, budget-friendly, and within walking distance of Coconut Dream Corridor. Best for families seeking good value and convenience.

• Dadonghai: Centrally located with balanced transport options, hotel choices ranging from budget to mid-range, and a lively yet safe atmosphere at night. Suitable for young travelers.

• Yalong Bay: Top-tier beach and water quality, strong hotel privacy, a quiet and pleasant environment, and a strong resort atmosphere. Best for vacationers with a more generous budget.

• Haitang Bay: Concentrated with high-end resort hotels, close to the duty-free mall, and well equipped with facilities, though overall spending is relatively high. Suitable for shopping and simply relaxing.

Practical Pitfall-Avoidance Guide

• Sun protection is essential: Sanya’s UV rays are extremely strong, so be sure to prepare SPF50+ sunscreen, a sun hat, cooling arm sleeves, and sunglasses. Do not gamble on being someone who “doesn’t tan.”
• Transportation: Attractions are spread far apart, so taking taxis or renting an electric scooter is recommended (be sure to wear a helmet). Avoid unlicensed taxis at airports and stations; ride-hailing platforms are safer and more reliable.
• Duty-free shopping: Confirm your offshore duty-free eligibility in advance: you must be at least 16 years old and have an out-of-island ticket within 30 days, with an annual quota of 100,000 RMB per person. It is recommended to shop one or two days ahead to avoid items selling out, and remember that offline orders in Sanya must be placed at least 6 hours in advance.
