A 20-kilometer coastline with coconut groves and lawns that are great for photos, with especially beautiful sunset clouds.

Sanya is a city that is perfect for a relaxing vacation. Based on the latest travel experiences, I’ve put together a comfortable 5-day, 4-night itinerary for you, balancing classic must-sees with ways to avoid crowds and harsh sun.
In the afternoon, head to Coconut Dream Corridor for a stunning sunset. The orange-tinted sea at dusk is incredibly photogenic. In the evening, go to First Market Night Market for seafood, browse distinctive little dresses, and soak up Sanya’s lively local atmosphere.
In the morning, land on West Island, rent a small electric scooter, and slowly circle the island, checking out the coral wall and glassy sea. In the afternoon, visit Tianya Town to see its blue-and-white, comic-style buildings, then find a seaside cafe and simply relax.
In the morning, visit Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone to pay respects to the 108-meter Guanyin statue on the sea. The park is very large, so taking the sightseeing shuttle is recommended. In the late afternoon, go to Luhuitou Scenic Area for panoramic views of Sanya and its glittering nightscape.
On a sunny day, Wuzhizhou Island is a must for its jelly-like sea and water activities. In the afternoon, head to Houhai Village, a paradise for beginner surfers, then enjoy the sea breeze at a small bar in the evening.
Spend the morning exploring Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park and breathing in the fresh air. In the afternoon, drive or cycle along the coastal Sun Bay Road, then head to the airport fully satisfied.
Sanya’s attractions each have their own character, so you can choose based on your interests and energy level:
A 20-kilometer coastline with coconut groves and lawns that are great for photos, with especially beautiful sunset clouds.

The ultimate glassy sea, with crystal-clear water, fine sand, and highly photogenic scenery.

A glassy sea paired with the everyday atmosphere of a fishing village; quiet, uncrowded, and very photogenic.

Jelly-colored glassy sea, a gentle beach, and rows of trendy restaurants and bars; great for photos.

Ordinary during the day, but climbing to the top at night for the city lights makes it one of the best places to see Sanya’s night views.

Besides seeing the sea, Sanya’s local specialties are definitely not to be missed:
A long-established restaurant of more than 20 years, serving freshly caught and cooked seafood with transparent pricing, plus a choice of zaopo vinegar hot pot.

Slow-simmered over a low flame, with tender duck that falls off the bone, herbal fragrance infused into the meat, and sauce that is excellent over rice.

Coconut-fragrant Wenchang chicken with crisp skin and tender meat, plus appetizing sour-spicy zaopo vinegar; authentic Hainanese cuisine.

Known for its signature pepper crab e-fu noodles, with rich crab roe and plump, tender oyster rice.

A breakfast spot loved by locals, with rich soup, sweet fragrant braising sauce, and a house-made dipping sauce.
