• Day 1: Arrive in Hechi and Explore a Water-Filled Tiankeng
  • Morning: Arrive in Hechi City and head to Sanmenhai in Fengshan County. Take a boat through three natural karst caves and experience the shifting light and darkness of “three days and three nights.” The lake water glows a dreamy Tiffany blue, and sunlight pours down through the skylights like a fairyland.

• Afternoon: Head to Bainiao Rock and take another boat ride into the cave, where the changing light and shadows feel like traveling through time and space.

• Evening: Stay overnight in Fengshan County and try local hempseed fish soup and five-color glutinous rice.

• Day 2: Underground Canyon and Ethnic Culture
  • Morning: Drive to Nandan County and visit Dongtian Shengjing. This is a huge underground canyon with a constant temperature of 16°C. The boardwalk is gentle and very suitable for family visits. It is recommended to buy a combo ticket that includes Baiku Yao Village and Geyasi Valley.

• Transportation Tips: Hechi’s attractions are spread out. For cross-county travel, self-driving or hiring a car is recommended. Road conditions are good, but there are many bends, so drive slowly and carefully. You can also take the high-speed rail to Hechi West Station and rent a car from there.
• Accommodation: It is recommended to stay in Fengshan County or Nandan County. Both offer good value and are within 1 hour of the major scenic areas, making transfers and rest stops convenient.
• Ticket Reservations: During major holidays, boat tickets for popular scenic areas such as Sanmenhai are in very high demand, so be sure to buy them online in advance.
• What to Bring: Temperatures inside the caves are relatively low, so bring a light jacket. Wear non-slip shoes, as the cave boardwalks can be damp. Bring mosquito repellent and sun protection.
• Important Notes: During the rainy season (July-August), some scenic areas may close temporarily, so be sure to check the weather before traveling. The water can be deep during boat rides, so keep a firm hold on your phone.
