3-Day, 2-Night Itinerary

• Day 1: Healing Fishing Village and Black-Sand Beach Route. In the morning, head to Leshan Ancient Fishing Village to stroll through the old village and try seaside foraging; in the afternoon, visit Strange Stone Beach to check in at the “Red Cliffs on the Sea” reef landscape, then go to Bailang Beach at dusk to watch a stunning orange-sea sunset. For dinner, have salt-and-pepper mantis shrimp and stir-fried swimming crab at a seaside food stall.
• Day 2: China-Vietnam Border Culture Route. • Wanwei Golden Beach: There are many seafront rooms with the sea right outside the window, suitable for families or couples who want to watch sunrises and sunsets and experience seaside foraging. However, homestay quality varies, so choose carefully.

• Transportation: Fangchenggang’s attractions are far apart, and public buses are inconvenient, so self-driving or renting a car is strongly recommended. If you arrive by high-speed rail, you can rent an electric scooter locally or take taxis.
• Buying Seafood: When buying seafood at markets, compare prices, ask clearly about the unit price and processing fee in advance, and avoid being overcharged. Try to go to Caizhu Market around 3 or 4 p.m., when the seafood is fresher.
• Beach Facilities: Some undeveloped beaches, such as certain villages in Qisha Town, have few public toilets, more trash, and no showers, so the experience is average. Prioritize better-developed beaches such as Bailang Beach or Baisha Bay.
• Weather and Sun Protection: UV rays by the sea are very strong, and walking in reef areas can be slippery, so be sure to use sun protection and wear non-slip shoes. Temperatures differ greatly between morning and evening, so carry a light jacket.
• Fishing Season Opening Festival: August 16 each year is Fangchenggang’s Fishing Season Opening Festival. Seafood is at its cheapest and plumpest then, and the festive atmosphere is strong, but accommodation prices also rise accordingly, so book in advance.
