- Day 2: Get up early to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds from Golden Summit → take the cable car down → head to Nielong Cave in the afternoon for a cool summer cave adventure → return to the city in the evening and stroll along Nanzheng Street.

- Where to stay: If you want to see the sunrise, choose a mountaintop guesthouse or tent on Wugong Mountain (advance booking required). If you want easy access to food and shopping, stay around Nanzheng Street or the Runda International business district in the city, where transport is convenient and there are plenty of shops and restaurants.
- Getting around: High-speed trains go directly to Pingxiang North Station. There are direct buses from the North Station to Wugong Mountain (27 yuan/person). For short distances in the city, shared bikes are an option. Taxis in the city center can get stuck in traffic, so buses are recommended first.
Pitfall-Avoidance Tips
- Spice warning: Pingxiang’s heat is “fragrant and spicy,” not sour-spicy. Visitors from elsewhere should definitely choose mild spice when ordering and keep some mung bean porridge on hand to cool the burn.
- Gear preparation: Wugong Mountain is 6-8°C cooler than the city, so bring a light windproof jacket. The ground inside Nielong Cave is slippery, so wear non-slip shoes.
- Closure days: Memorial halls and museums are usually closed on Mondays. Plan your itinerary accordingly to avoid a wasted trip.
- Cable car queues: In peak season, the downhill cable car queues at Wugong Mountain can be very long. It is best to line up early so you do not delay your return journey.
