  • Pitfall to Avoid: It is not recommended to stay in guesthouses that solicit guests at the scenic-area entrance; facilities are poor and prices are inflated. Food inside the scenic area is expensive, so bringing your own snacks or simple meals is recommended.
• Transportation:
  • Long-distance Transport: Fly into Hehua Airport or take the high-speed rail to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. A taxi to the city costs about 10-20 yuan.
  • Local Transport: Attractions are spread out, so chartering a car or taking tourist shuttle buses is recommended. There are buses from Tianmen Mountain to the forest park, but they stop running at night, so plan ahead.
