• Dongchang Lake: A rare large urban lake in northern China, with a water area of 6.3 square kilometers and free admission. It is ideal for cycling around the lake or taking a water bus; the sunset at the Twenty-One-Arch Bridge is stunning.

• Guangyue Tower: One of China’s Ten Famous Towers, with a history of more than 650 years. It is an ancient wooden tower built with mortise-and-tenon joints and has never collapsed or been rebuilt. From the top, you can overlook the entire ancient city. Admission is 30 yuan.

• Shanxi-Shaanxi Guild Hall: A Qing-dynasty architectural treasure built by merchant guilds. Its wood carvings, brick carvings, and stone carvings are known as the “three wonders,” and the theater stage and Guandi Hall are full of intricate details. Admission is 30 yuan.

• China Grand Canal Culture Museum: China’s first museum themed around canal culture, using sound, light, and interactive installations to recreate the prosperous scenes of canal transport. Free admission throughout; closed on Mondays.

• Jingyang Ridge: The original setting of Wu Song fighting the tiger, with sandy hills and dense woods recreating scenes from the novel. It also offers immersive live-action performances. Admission is 30 yuan.

• Where to Stay: Staying near Dongchang Lake or the Water Ancient City is recommended for convenient travel and night views. For better value, choose a budget hotel in the old city.
